This is the "Daddy of them All". This is my signature massage. I use all the tools in my arsenal that I feel guided to use with you. Let me know your preferences. 60-120 minutes. Here is your chance to have all the time and all the stuff!
You are hurting, of course you want the pain to go away! Massage helps with pain, right? In some cases massage may prolong your recovery. Folks often book immediately after a fall/strain/sprain. I recommend waiting 3 days for the body to do it’s thing. Let it heal, people!!! Your body in all its wisdom knows exactly what to do. Don’t get in the way! Rest is best.
Here is a guide to know when you should or should not get a massage after an injury. In all cases, use common sense and check with your doctor whenever necessary. The following recommendations are given under the assumptions that there is not a more serious injury involved and that you have sought sufficient medical care and advice. For goodness sake, please make sure nothing is broken or torn!
Let’s start with the most common one. Headaches are very easily treated with massage. Relaxing the muscles in the neck, shoulders, upper back and head can reduce or even eliminate headache pain. If you have frequent headaches perhaps frequent massages are in order.
Massage can help, but not right away. Wait 3 days for the inflammation to subside somewhat.
(first ball game of the year, eh?) kinda complicated, so check with your Dr. if severe. Again, wait 3 days. Muscles around the entire upper back, neck and even the armpit area may be involved.
(what were you lifting?) can be complicated, so Dr. if needed. Treatment involves working on a lot of various muscles that can impact the movement of the spine or leg. These are muscles in the glutes, the upper thigh and even the stomach area and all the way down to the feet. All these muscles work together to make sure the body moves properly.
Here is a tip: Treat before the injury occurs. What? How? Most injuries happen in areas of your body that are already stressed and overworked with repetitive movements. There is no give or flexibility in tight muscles and tissues. Regular massage has shown to alleviate tension and stress from your body and prevent injury. Also, You deserve to feel great!
During an aromatherapy massage, you inhale these essential oil molecules or absorb them through your skin. They are thought to promote beneficial changes in your mind and body by affecting the limbic system, a region of the brain known to influence the nervous system. Come smell the lovely custom blends I have created for you. Mints, Citrus, Florals and more. Oils may decrease inflammation, induce calming and a sense of ease.
I find that when included in a massage, oils can induce a wide range of responses. Body, Mind and Spirit are all affected by the aroma and chemical components.
Once upon a time, 2013 in fact, a girl and her family travel across the sea to a sacred island to learn the secrets of the hot stone massage or pohaku, as the locals called it.
To find a teacher was the hard part. No one wanted to share the ancient Hawaiian teachings. In the past it had been unsafe for the people to practice any traditions. But one woman chose to bring the teachings to the mainstream. Laura Monaco, with her lovely spirit and brave heart was a true Kumu or teacher. Combining the long, luxurious massage strokes of Lomi Lomi with the penetrating heat of the lava stones could not be kept a secret for long.
On the island of Maui there are only a handful of beaches that the surf sufficiently tumbles the lava rocks to create the gliding smooth texture. The family was delighted, being an exclusive course, each were used for practice and demonstration massages.
After several days of study in the techniques and art of Lomi Lomi, the girl and her kumu traveled to one such beach that was secluded and peaceful. The sounds of the waves crashing against the shore, carrying the stones up the sand, and the tingle and clanking of the rocks as they tumble back down to the water was magical. Ceremonial offerings with chanting and prayer to Pele the goddess of volcanoes, fire, and lightning opened and prepared our hearts to receive the blessings of the stones. Several hours were spent in silence and contemplation while each stone called out to the girl, saying, “I will journey with you to the other side of the ocean to bring the spirit of Aloha to the prairies”.
With great joy and love filling the girl to the brim she then began to embark back to her home. But how to transport these blessings? I mean they are heavy! Shipping was expensive, so the girl bought some extra cute luggage and split the stones evenly into several bags. Hoping to not get caught, (it is illegal to remove natural items from the Hawaii) off she flew. If Pele gave her blessings who was the USDA to stand in her way.
Happily Ever After these precious stones have brought peace, heat and Aloha to hundreds of people. It brings the girl so much joy to hear the sighs of contentment as the stones whisk all of your cares away.
These magical rocks melt the tissues and can be used as a digging tool. Whisking all of that downer energy away. Heart center and overflowing with Aloha. You betcha they are my favorite!
